Whose Figure-Ground? My Figure-Ground.

November 1, 2008 § 1 Comment

I was looking through my portfolio website statistics and saw a Referring URL from a site I’d never heard of, khazar.com. It turns out it’s the site for a design professional and teacher in California, James Khazar. I poked around a little more and saw that he is using one of my figure-ground designs as an example for his class. Needless to say, I am very flattered that someone thought it example-worthy.

For this piece, I used the typeface Helvetica as a base to work off of, modified the J and T, and drew the z by hand. I chose the initials “JTz” because my last name is Tzucker, with a silent T and I often sign things JTz.
