For anyone interested in creating killer presentations (designer and non-designer alike), I highly suggest the new book, slide:ology, by Nancy Duarte. The book, dare I say, is substantial, unlike many books on presentations. In it, you will not only learn about presentations, but you’ll also get a clinic on visual thinking and design. This book may very well go down as The Bible on Presentations.

The only real downside to the book is, ironically, its “substantialness” (if that’s a word). While slide:ology is definitely written for a general audience, there’s a lot of information and a lot of deep knowledge that Ms. Duarte is trying to convey. You could probably teach a full semester class learning and practicing the lessons in this book, which is awesome, but it also means that, wow, there’s a lot of information.

Still, a book like this needed to be written, and it needed to be written by somebody of Nancy’s pedigree. Go get it.
